Promoting Water & Ice Safety for Every Season

Founded in memory of Blake W. Herman, our nonprofit organization is dedicated to providing education, resources, and awareness to help prevent water and ice-related accidents. After the tragic loss of a young man while ice fishing, our mission is to honor his life by promoting safety, encouraging informed decisions on the ice and water, and helping protect other families from experiencing similar tragedy. Started by three mothers brought together through the close bond shared by their sons, the organization was created to turn a tragedy into purpose and create a lasting impact within the community. Through community outreach, education, and advocacy, we strive to create safer experiences for everyone who enjoys being on the water and outdoors.

Blake W. Herman

Blake was a fun, loving, hard-working, bold, and adventurous young man. He loved everything from hunting, snowboarding, swimming, wakeboarding, fishing, football, and spending time with family & friends. He had a full community of support from his mom, step-dad, sister, aunts, uncles, grandparents, God family, and friends. He had his future planned out, a job, almost finished building his house with his Godbrother, Andrew. Blake had a beautiful girlfriend, Kylah, he planned to propose to at Christmas.

On December 9, 2024, he went on an ice-fishing outing. He was a passenger on a 4-wheeler with his Godbrother Dylan.  The boys went back out on the ice after they were done fishing, and they realized they forgot something on the lake.  They got lost as it was getting dark and the ice broke.  Then Dylan called 911 and his father to try to get both of them rescued. Thankfully, Dylan survived. Unfortunately, Blake passed away at the age of 18, just a few weeks away from his 19th birthday.  The loss of Blake impacted all of our lives.
